Cluster feeding is one of the most misunderstood parts of early breastfeeding. When babies nurse frequently, many moms are told it means something is wrong with their supply. In reality, cluster feeding is a normal, purposeful phase that supports growth and milk production. Without education and support, this season can quietly chip away at a mother’s confidence, when what she truly needs is reassurance, rest, and community.

Seven years ago, I didn’t know I had the right to a private space to pump at work. Like so many moms, I made do with what I had — my car, supply closets, and bathroom breaks. But now I know better. Every mom deserves to pump in peace and with dignity. In this post, I’m breaking down what the law actually says about pumping at work, what reasonable break time really means, and why protecting that time matters for all of us.
